ChangeNOW 2025 : a crucial summit for Climate Change

Ten years after the Treaty of Paris, the French capital hosts a new grand meeting for the celebration of the 10 years anniversary of the Treaty of Paris. From the 24 to 26 April 2025, the ChangeNOW summit is back at the Grand Palais for a new edition with strong symbolism. The objective is to take stock of the past ten years from the COP21. But also to highlight concrete solutions to address the ecological emergency including climate change. In Paris, scientists, entrepreneurs, associations, and political leaders will come together to accelerate action.

François Hollande at the COP21 in 2015

Back in 2015, Paris hosted the 21th Conference of the Parties (COP21). A decisive summit in the fight against climate change. After several days of negotiations, 196 countries adopted the Paris Agreement, a legally binding text. It committed each country to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. The agreement came into force in 2016, after being ratified by a majority of countries, including the largest emitters such as China, the United States, and the European Union. This was the first time that a common framework united almost all countries around a single climate objective.

10 years after the Treaty of Paris : Where are we ?

Ten years later, the results of the Paris agreement are mixed. If the political commitment of 2015 marked a historic turning point, concrete actions are struggling to follow. The first goal was to limit globaal warming to +1,5 °C, but it seems more and more difficult to achieve. According to the last report of the GIEC (The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), the current trajectories lead towards a global warming of +2,5 à +2,9 °C by the end of the century. The past decade has seen a continued increase in greenhouse gas emissions.

Regarding the financing of this energy transition, progress is also insufficient. The Paris Agreement planned for massive financial support for the most vulnerable countries. The richest countries had announced a goal of $100 billion annually. This promise was never fully fulfilled.10 years after the Treaty of Paris : Where are we ?

Yet, all over the world, the effects of climate change are multiplying and intensifying. We can observe more and more natural degradations such as long droughts, floods, fires and the coastal retreat. Due to a lack of resources, many countries of the South are struggling to strengthen their resilience or begin their energy transition. At the same time, investments in fossil fuels remain significantly higher than those allocated to low-carbon solutions.

ChangeNOW 2025 : a pivotal moment for the climate

In this context, the ChangeNOW 2025 summit arrives at a crucial moment. Both a showcase for ecological innovation and a forum for international engagement, the event offers another way of approaching the transition: through action, solutions and cooperation.

In Paris, for three days, more than a hundred concrete solutions will be presented by different actors of the fight for climate. Some startups, researchers, ONG et collectivities from all around the world, will one by one propose their solutions. Sustainable agriculture, clean mobility, circular economy, decarbonization of industries… all major sectors are concerned.

The program for this 2025 edition promises to be packed. Some engaged celebrities such Paul Watson (president of Sea Shepherd who recently escaped an extradition in Japan), Cyril Dion (French writer, director and activist), or even Natalie Portman, will come to share their visions of the future. Conferences will be held on the integration of biodiversity and public politics, the role of younger people in climate governance, or even the impact of artificial intelligence in the ecological transition.

This year, mission-driven companies will also have a dedicated space to explore emerging sustainable economic models.

ChangeNOW 2025 : An event accessible to all

ChangeNOW aims to be inclusive, open to the general public, students, professionals, and the curious. Educational workshops, exhibitions, and immersive demonstrations will be offered throughout the Grand Palais, transformed for the occasion into a giant transition laboratory.

The idea: to show that everyone can act on their own scale. The event gives an important place to younger generations, giving them a voice and promoting projects led by those under 30. In 2024, more than 30,000 visitors participated in the event, including many high school and university students who came to meet those who are inventing the solutions of tomorrow. This dynamic is expected to grow even more this year, with a program specially designed for a school audience.

Endowment funds, key players in the dynamic

In this spirit of cooperation, endowment funds have a central role to play. By supporting innovative projects, financing applied research, and supporting citizen initiatives, they become catalysts for concrete solutions. Participating in ChangeNOW 2025 also means meeting these committed fundraising stakeholders, who work every day to bring about a different model of society. One that is more sustainable, fairer, and more economical.

In summary: why go to ChangeNOW 2025?

  • And because in Paris, from April 24 to 26, part of our collective future is at stake.
  • Because the tenth anniversary of the Paris Agreement is an opportunity to take real stock.
  • Because the actors in the fight for the climate will present their solutions to you, ready to be deployed.
  • Because the event allows you to meet the agents of change: researchers, innovators, artists, elected officials, patrons.
  • Because it is a place of transmission, education and inspiration for all audiences.
